Photographer Laura Horvath
Laura Horvath has a contagious happy personality. She has a passion for photography and she is in the constant pursuit of educating herself on the complexities of photography. She has attended a couple of our photography workshops and always impresses us with her eagerness to learn and her ability to take professional images.
Great photographers rely on a learned knowledge that has been acquired through study. This is necessary to become a complete photographer which allows you to nurture and develop as much as you can. If you develop only one skill or talent and discard the rest as boring or unnecessary, you will miss out on what will make you successful in the complex world of photography today.
Laura is on her way of becoming a great photographer! To see some of her work

Love it, love it, love it!It's amazing guys, thank you for sharing it with us. What a gift.I'm going to watch it again!Love Laura

Horses, wranglers, photographers and just down to earth good people. The 2010 Montana horse drive in Three Forks Montana draws in thousands of spectators to experience and see hundreds of horses that are moved over 37 miles through rugged terrain and through the streets of Three Forks. Wednesday, Val Westover and Stephanie Adriana helped set up camp and finalize preparations. Thursday, they picked up the participants at the airport.
Friday, they jumped on their horses along with the other wranglers and rounded up hundreds of horses across hundreds of acres and corralled them for the drive. Saturday, they picked up the photographers and shadowed the horse drive capturing incredible images. Sunday, they jumped back on their horses and helped move the horses 17 more miles to their final destination.
The horses, the incredible landscape, the photography, the people, the life altering experience... "It's too hard to put into words what we experienced."

“The Roundup” Wins Photo of the Year
Three Forks, Montana – February 8, 2010 - Stephanie Adriana’s “The Roundup” has won the prestigious Cowboys and Indians magazine Equine Photo of the Year. The spectacular photo of stampeding horses was taken during the Montana Horses Annual Horse Roundup and Drive in Three Forks last year.
Stephanie, a photographer with Val Westover Photography in California, will be back in Montana this spring with Val Westover to lead a new Photography Expedition held in conjunction with the Three Forks Horse Roundup and Drive. The expedition is an addition to the event and offers photographers an exclusive opportunity to experience the Horse Drive while photographing the action from behind the scenes. Val and Stephanie are both award winning photographers, long-time photography instructors, and have guided photo safaris across the world. They will also conduct two more Photo Expeditions at the Mantle Ranch in June and September.
“The Roundup” will be featured during a gallery exhibition of fine art associated with the Horse Drive. Meet Stephanie Adriana, Val Westover, and other photographers on April 24 after the horses trail through town. The exhibit and reception will be located at the Drive headquarters in Three Forks at the newly remodeled and reopened Sacajawea Hotel.
Cowboys and Indians March issue is on stands now. For more information about the Annual Horse Roundup and Drive and Photography Expedition, or the Val Westover Photo Safaris at Montana Horses, see www.MontanaHorses.com or call 406 285-2541. Montana Horses Photography Expedition
Here are some of the high-lights from our September 2009 Montana Horses photography expedition. Our adventures took us to Hollow Top Lake in Pony Montana, High school rodeo, a historic homestead ranch to photograph a family, the majestic Yellowstone National Park and the Mantle Horse Ranch. Our photography participants captured images of horses people and nature. The Mantle Ranch hosted our expedition and gave us countless opportunities to capture the perfect shot, What an adventure!

Capturing true emotion…
We are passionate about giving participants in our workshops the tools and knowledge to become better photographers with a new ability to capture images that tell amazing stories and to come home with a new understanding of horses and an experience of a lifetime.
Montana Horses welcomes photographers and horse lovers for a three-day adventure-packed workshop in Three Forks, Montana.
Experience a real working horse ranch (Montana Horses is not a dude ranch) with more horses than you can count.
Capture images of horses running as a herd down mountains with dust hundreds of feet in the air and catch them running through water.
Create images of bucking horses, cowboys on bucking horses, round corral roping, riders racing through water, rodeo practice, hundreds of horses in a corral and learn horse 101 from the ranches owners, Kale and Renee Mantle.
Shoot over our shoulder as we photograph a portrait session of a real cowboy in front of his barn and a family with children.
Go on the ride of your life to Hollow top lake. This is a photo safari on horseback were you will ride through creeks, and experience untouched beauty. We will be going through the classic old Montana mountain mining town of “Pony” before the ride so be prepared to capture images of old abandoned buildings and barns. On our way back we just might stop for a spell at the small towns saloon.
Don’t put your camera down yet; we will be going to Yellow Stone Park to capture breathtaking images of rivers, canyons, landscape, animals and an outdoor portrait session of a family with children.
By the time you go home, we will have covered, lighting, composition, movement, horse behavior and herd mentality. You will have a new passion for photography and you will have once in a lifetime images that not only tell amazing stories, but also have captured true emotion.
